Rock has been representing seriously injured and wrongful death victims and their families for over 30 years. From 1975 to 1996 he practiced in Houston, Texas, beginning at Kronzer, Abraham & Watkins, where he became a partner in 1981 (thereafter, Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Ballard, Onstad & Friend) and then from 1991-1996 at Onstad, Kaiser, & Fontaine. The Onstad Law Firm was founded in 1996 when Rock and Barbara Onstad fell in love with Lake Travis and moved to Austin with their two daughters.  

Prior to the practice of law, he received a B.A. from UT Austin in Microbiology, served in the United States Marine Corps as a Captain, a Naval Aviator and was a Vietnam Veteran. He received his J.D. from the University of Houston in 1975.
